Forest Park in Chiang Rai Province is under the jurisdiction of Lampang Forest Industry Organization and there is only one forest park located in Chiang Rai province
Mae Yao-Mae Sai Forest Park, Mae Yao Subdistrict, Mueang District, Chiang Rai Province :
covering a total area of 1,902.49 rai, received from the Royal Forest Department for maintenance and utilization on November 8, 1990, and officially registered as a forest plantation under the 1992 Forest Plantation Act. The park is primarily composed of teak plantations and the elevation ranges between 430-700 meters above sea level. The terrain is predominantly mountainous with granite rocks scattered throughout the park.
The project activities align with the eligible activities standard defined by the Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (Public Organization) in T-VER-S-METH-13-03. Proper management practices have been implemented, including creating wider firebreaks in steep areas, pruning to improve stem quality, thinning to reduce tree density, and patrolling to prevent and protect the forest from encroachment.
Remarks : No trees will be cut down within the project area for the entire 10-year duration of the project.
