Projects Details

Khun Mae Kum Mee Forest Park has a total area of 19,153.72 rai. This forest park is a Category 1 project, planted according to the National Economic and Social Development Plan. It is located in the southern part of Phrae Province. This T-VER-METH-FOR-03 project was initiated to establish teak plantations starting in 1968. The overall terrain of the forest park is characterized by alternating hills and deep ravines. The original forest was a mixed deciduous forest with teak trees mixed with Dipterocarpus alatus, receiving ample rainfall throughout the year. Numerous small streams are scattered throughout Khun Mae Kum Mee Forest Park, most of which only carry water during the rainy season. These streams contribute to the Yom River basin. Moreover, Khun Mae Kum Mee Forest Park comprises four types of natural forests which are dry dipterocarp forest, mixed deciduous forest with pine, mixed deciduous forest, and dry evergreen forest.
Sustainable Management at Mae Kum Mee Forest Park was established on August 1 in 2015, with the objective to commit a sustainable forest management aligned with the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) standards. This involves a balance approach to environmental, social, and economic in every aspects.
