โครงการปลูกป่าบริเวณน้ำกงเซซู ในเมืองพูวง แขวงอัตตะปือ มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อเพิ่มพื้นที่ป่าไม้และเพิ่มความอุดมสมบูรณ์ของระบบนิเวศโดยการฟื้นฟูที่อยู่อาศัยของสัตว์ป่าในพื้นที่ที่เสื่อมโทรมและถูกบุกรุกทำลาย กิจกรรมนี้จะช่วยเพิ่มความหลากหลายทางชีวภาพและระบบนิเวศของป่าไม้และทรัพยากรสัตว์ป่า ภายใต้กิจกรรมนี้จะมีการดำเนินการปลูกพันธุ์ไม้พื้นเมือง เช่น ต้นเต็ง ต้นรัง ต้นมะค่าโมง ต้นกุ่ม ต้นยางนา ในช่วงเวลาการดำเนินโครงการ กิจกรรมการปลูกจะถูกวางแผนเป็นอย่างดีตามลักษณะของพื้นที่ เเละจะนำเทคโนโลยีที่ทันสมัยมาใช้ร่วมกับการฟื้นฟูผืนป่า นอกจากนี้แล้วยังมีการจ้างงานคนท้องถิ่นบริเวณพื้นที่นั้นๆในการดำเนินกิจกรรมต่างๆ ของการปลูกต้นไม้ เพื่อสร้างโอกาสการจ้างงาน เเละได้พัฒนาคุณภาพชีวิตของคนท้องถิ่นในบริเวณภาคใต้ ของ สปป ลาว ในคราวเดียวกัน  ทั้งนี้พื้นที่ป่าน้ำกงเซซู ในเมืองพูวงครอบคลุมพื้นที่ 197 เฮกตาร์ ในบริเวณผืนป่ามี 2 หมู่บ้าน กิจกรรมของโครงการสามารถลดอัตราการตัดไม้ทำลายป่าได้อย่างเหมาะสม 10% ในปีแรก เมื่อเปรียบเทียบกับอัตราการตัดไม้ทำลายป่าในอดีต และค่อยๆ เพิ่มขึ้นเป็น 70% ภายใน 10 ปีของระยะเวลาโครงการ หลังจากปีที่ 10 สันนิษฐานว่าดัชนีประสิทธิผลจะคงที่ที่ 70% *หมายเหตุ:
