On November 22, 2023 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, there was a signing ceremony for development cooperation (MOA) titled "Reduction of Greenhouse Gas Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation ( REDD+)" between the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and Chaleun Sekong Carbon Co., Ltd. Phet Phong Phi Pak, Minister of Agriculture and Forestry and Mr. Chanthanom Phommani, the company's president, inviting Chaleun Sekong Carbon Limited, along with the delegations from both sides as witnesses.

After that, a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing ceremony was held between the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and Chaleun Sekong Carbon Co., Ltd., signed by Mr. Suchad Xayatoman, Director of the Forestry Department of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, and Mr. Xayadeth Suksawat, Director of Chaleun Sekong Carbon Co., Ltd., with representatives from both parties as witnesses. For the project area, there are 4 provinces in the south with an area of ​​550,000 hectares (including: Nam Phu National Forest Protection Area of ​​224,000 hectares, Se Nam Kong-Sesu National Forest Protection Area of ​​186,000 hectares and Sekong-Sekhman National Forest Protection Area of ​​140,000 hectares) which can produce over 23 million tons of carbon credits throughout 30-year cooperation contract, the average of the first 6 years will be able to produce about 430,000 carbon credits and then will be able to produce 850,000 carbon credits afterwards.
