The forest parks in Lampang province are managed by Lampang Forest Industry Organization. There are a total of 8 forest parks:
1. Mae Ta Forest Park, Mueang Mai Subdistrict, Jae Hom District, Lampang Province: Covering an area of 852.50 rai, the park is characterized by mixed deciduous forest and It is situated at an elevation of 255-995 meters above sea level.
2. Mae Tui Forest Park, Ban Ueam Subdistrict, Mueang District, Lampang Province: Covering an area of 399.69 rai, the park is predominantly mountainous with interspersed plains. The original vegetation was primarily dry dipterocarp forest and has Mae Tuay River in the area as its significant waterway .
3. Mae Than Forest Park, Na Kaew Subdistrict, Koh Kha District, Lampang Province: This park is a sub-project of the Mae Phrik-Mae Saliam Forest Park, covering an area of 64.91 rai. The vegetation which includes dry dipterocarp forest, mixed deciduous forest, and dry deciduous dipterocarp forest. The terrain is characterized by foothills and rolling hills.
4. Mae Phrik-Mae Saliam Forest Park, Mae Tod Subdistrict, Thein District, Lampang Province: Covering a total area of 6,487.29 rai, the park vegetation features teak plantations, dry dipterocarp forest, and mixed deciduous forest. It is situated at an elevation of 300-400 meters above sea level and has a monsoon climate.
5. Mae Wa Forest Park, Thein Buri Subdistrict, Thein District, Lampang Province: Covering a total area of 249.65 rai, the terrain is primarily lowland with some hilly areas.
6. Mae Suk Forest Park, Mae Suk Subdistrict, Jae Hom District, Lampang Province: Covering a total area of 1,616.66 rai, the park is situated on the foothills with 700 meters above the sea level and the main vegetation consists in the area is teak plantations and mixed deciduous forest.
7. Wiang Mok Forest Park, Wiang Mok Subdistrict, Thein District, Lampang Province: Located within the Mae Mok National Forest Reserve, the park covers 3,083.89 rai and the terrain is hilly situated at the elevation of 1,027 meters above sea level. The vegetation primarily consists of teak plantations.
8. Thung Kwien Forest Park, Wiang Tal Subdistrict, Hang Chat District, Lampang Province: Covering a vast area of 10,682.61 rai, the park features teak plantations that have regenerated into dry dipterocarp and mixed deciduous forests. The elevation ranges between 280-450 meters above sea level. The Mae San stream is a significant waterway flowing through the park and can be found in the reservoir within the park.
The project activities align with the eligible activities standard defined by the Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (Public Organization) in T-VER-S-METH-13-03. Proper management practices have been implemented, including creating wider firebreaks in steep areas, pruning to improve stem quality, thinning to reduce tree density, and patrolling to prevent and protect the forest from encroachment.
Remarks : No trees will be cut down within the project area for the entire 10-year duration of the project.
